Hello everyone!

Here is the overview for this week: WEEKLY OVERVIEW 4-3

The next couple of weeks are sure to be quite busy for everyone in the NHS middle school.  The middle school production of Legally Blonde Jr. is in full rehearsal, which is quite demanding and there will be 5! different shows between Friday and Sunday.  Good luck to all our young actors!

Also, our trip to Enterprise City is next Thursday April 13th!  We have sent home information and confirmations regarding volunteering.  We are working on figuring out the issues with accessing the volunteer information on the Enterprise City website and will keep you updated.

There will be no school this Friday due to a teachers workshop.

Have a wonderful remainder of the week!

If you have any difficulty please call the office so that it can be sorted out for future report cards.

We are also holding second trimester conferences for parents (and students if they would like to attend) this week.  If you have not already signed up please visit this link: https://ptcfast.com/schools/North_Hampton_School  and follow the prompts to sign up for a conference.  If you have any difficulty you can email or call us directly and we will get you set up.

This week the students find out their Enterprise City jobs!  Students had to go through formal application and resume writing lessons and even had to interview for the jobs.  This week students will begin to work in their groups to come up with a business plan to run their business successfully.

Welcome back everyone!  Go Patriots!

Here is the overview for this week: WEEKLY OVERVIEW 1-23

The 100th day of school is approaching!  The 1st graders have asked the 6th graders to collect 100 boxes of cereal to celebrate the 100th day of school and to be donated to the Seacoast Family Food Pantry.  To help support the 1st graders and this excellent cause please send in unopened boxes of cereal that you wish to donate.  The boxes will be collected by homeroom teachers and displayed for the 100th day of school on February 6th before they are brought to the food pantry.  For more information check out this flyer: NHS 100th Day Cereal

We want to thank everyone again who helped with transporting students to the Seabrook power station last Tuesday.  The students (and teachers!) learned a lot and had a great time.

Here are a few photos from the trip:  (if you can’t see them click on the blog post title to view this page on the web)

Please remember that there is no school for students this Friday, January 27th due to a teacher in service day.

We hope that you have an excellent week!

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend our curriculum night.  Hopefully you found it informative and worth your time.  We understand that everyone has busy schedules so we appreciate you taking time out of your evening.

If you were unable to make it here are some of the important documents and materials that we gave out which you may find helpful:

1.  Our Merrowvista slideshow: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B39OwYsp9eNgUGJxRm53SWxxdVU/view?usp=sharing (please do not share this on social media)

2.  An excerpt from Chip Wood’s book “Yardsticks” about 11 year olds: yardsticks-11yr-olds

3.  Information about the Lifeskills Curriculum: life-skills-curriculum

4.  Advice for parents of math students: jo-boaler-Math-for-parents

5.  A link to the slideshow that we used to frame our curriculum night: http://prezi.com/ghjecm339z9t/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy

Also, this morning the 6th graders led the first NHS “community meeting”, a whole-school meeting that gives specific grade levels a chance to share exciting things that they have been doing.  We shared the slideshow with the school and the 6th graders led a camp sing-along for the whole school.  Check it out!

Finally, there is a permission slip coming home with your child today for our field trip to the Waste Management landfill in Rochester on Wednesday.  Please sign and return it as soon as you can.
